On Sunday July 19th 2009, we made ham radio activity form one of the old mills sites in the Natural Park of Argentera located in Cadegliano Viconago (VA), activating for the first time, a place not valid for other permanent Awards like DAI, DCI or DLI. It was a challenge that sooner or later had to face, to verify the interest that our "Regio Insubrica Award" for hunters.
The response was very satisfactory and we were honored for 182 QSOs made, 17 on CW and 165 on SSB. In the morning we received a welcome visit our Membership Ivano IK2YXH and Fabio IZ2GMU, who can not be joining the team for family problems, are gone for a greeting.
Participation was worthy of the spirit of our borders, thanks
to the presence of our members, many of them with their wives and
children:
Work conditions were Icom IC-706 and Kenwood TS-50, a dipole Comet 40-80 hoisted and anchored to a beech tree at about 10 meters from the ground.
In the afternoon we installed the portable antenna by I1UJX, in order to work other bands, but unfortunately there were no openings, so the activity is continued in 40 mt. CW by Agostino IK2FIQ.
The excellent organization of the day was by Marco IZ2DVI, who had to come to terms with the hydrogeological diseases caused the flooding on Friday 17th In order to make accessible the mill, he had also cut a big tree on the cycle path.
Much appreciated was the idea to organize a buffet for lunch made by the Farm "The Carpio" in Cugliate Fabiasco, which was the "climax" to the harmony of the group. In the afternoon we received a very pleasant visit of our members Elisabetta and Generoso IZ2KLV, with their family.

NATURAL PARK
OF ARGENTERA
IThe Nature Park is located in the
municipality of Cadegliano with Viconago, takes its name from the place
called Argentera that extends between valleys and rivers.
In an outdoor setting of the imposing trees and numerous other plant species, that even the little ones can recognize by warning signs, are significant aspects of the ancient four mills, three of which have already been restored, which are noted for its frescoes dating back to XVIII-XIX century.
The park is also a small lake in passing that one can imagine being used by noble families to which it belonged, as a place of leisure and pastime.
